At Herringbone & Brass, we don’t have a “typical” project. We do it all. From full-home renovations to furnishing and layering individual rooms – and everything in between.

Some of our projects are focused on furnishing several rooms within a home, adding in custom millwork, and selectively updating finishes to elevate the existing architecture. These are often homes our clients already live in and love, but are looking to refresh in an intentional and elevated way.

On a larger scale, we also take on complete home renovations. Home renovations can include complete kitchen and bathroom redesigns, reworking layouts, moving or removing walls, and introducing custom millwork throughout the home. By reshaping the structure and flow of a space, we are able to create homes that feel more personal, functional, and aligned with the way our clients live.

A Complete Kitchen Renovation

A recent project we worked on included a full kitchen renovation, where we reimagined both the layout and spatial relationships within the home. The scope included removing and adding walls, as well as reconfiguring the existing footprint to better support our clients’ lifestyle needs.

Our clients wanted to make the kitchen feel more open to their great room. In order to achieve this, we removed the wall overlooking the great room, and replaced it with a glass partition. This provided the kitchen with spatial definition without sacrificing light or openness.

The existing kitchen was a very large and open space. Our clients wanted a more defined secondary space that could function as a den/office, which would support working from home, quiet moments throughout the day as well as additional family gathering space. To accommodate this, we introduced a new partition wall within the existing footprint, carving out a dedicated  den/office space while maintaining the overall openness of the plan.

From Concept to Completion

When working on a complete home renovation, our role extends beyond design alone. We come up with a vision for our clients and carry that vision through every detail in the home. From architectural elements such as millwork, tile, and wood finishes, to the more tactile layers of furnishings, lighting, wallpaper, and accessories, each component is considered as part of a unified whole.

Our favorite types of projects are the ones when our clients bring us in early on for complete home renovations. Early involvement allows us to shape the project holistically from the beginning, ensuring that architecture, interiors, and furnishings are all working in harmony rather than being layered in isolation.

From initial concept through final installation, our team manages the entire process. We develop detailed drawings, guide material and design selections at every stage, and oversee execution to ensure the final result is both carefully resolved and deeply tailored to our client’s lifestyle and needs.
