We are excited to share that one of our home office designs was recently featured in two Boston Design Guide blogs, each looking at a different aspect of interior design.

The office appeared in “Pushing Style & Design to the Max: A Guide to Maximalist Interior Design” and “Artful Interiors: Designing Around the Canvas”. While the two features explore different design ideas, both highlight elements that came together in this particular space.

The first feature, “Pushing Style & Design to the Max”, explores the idea that maximalism isn’t simply about filling a room with more. Instead, it’s about thoughtful collecting and creating a space where individual pieces have a place within the larger design.

We love this idea because a room with personality doesn’t necessarily have to follow a minimalist approach. Books, artwork, accessories, and decorative objects can all add depth and character when they’re thoughtfully considered. 

This home office is a great example of how these layers can come together to create a space that feels personal without feeling overwhelming. 

Designing Around the Canvas

The office was also included in Boston Design Guide’s “Artful Interiors: Designing Around the Canvas”, which explores the relationship between artwork and the spaces that surround it.

The article highlights that color can transform even a small corner into a focal point in a space, and that furniture itself can be considered an artful element within a room.

We love approaching a room as a composition, where artwork, furnishings, color, and accessories all contribute to the overall feel. Rather than treating each element separately, the goal is to create a space where everything works together. 

In this office, a striking painting became the starting point for the design direction. The painting inspired a palette of deep blues and rich berry tones. These colors were woven into every detail, from the carpet and ceiling wallpaper, to the custom standing desk and bookcases. 

Two Features, One Space

We are so excited to see this project featured from two different perspectives. One article focused on the art of collecting, while the other explored how artwork and interiors can work together. 

Both are ideas we return to often: design should feel intentional, but it should also feel personal.
